High performance computing for Ecuadorian science¶
CEDIA's HPC cluster puts GPU computing power, high-performance storage, dozens of scientific applications and a generative AI pilot at the service of researchers, universities and institutional projects — all with local technical support.
-
HPC access
Open Jupyter, RStudio, QGIS or a remote GPU desktop from your browser. Nothing to install.
-
Documentation
Step-by-step manuals and tutorials: from creating your account to running your first GPU job.
-
Request access
Request a user account with a simple form. In a few steps you will have access to the cluster and its services.
-
Support
CEDIA's NOC supports your project: e-mail, WhatsApp and extended hours, Monday through Sunday.
A cluster designed for researchers¶
CEDIA operates high performance computing infrastructure for scientific research, simulation and data processing in Ecuador. You don't need to be a systems expert: our tutorials guide you hand in hand, and the NOC stays with you throughout your project.
-
GPU computing
Three NVIDIA DGX A100 nodes — 8 A100 40 GB accelerators each — with 768 CPU cores and ~3 TB RAM per node. Ideal for machine learning, molecular dynamics, climate models and numerical simulation.
-
Fast storage
A ~110 TB shared workspace (1 TB per user) plus ultra-high-speed local disks for the day-to-day of your simulations.
-
Ready-to-use software
More than 45 applications compiled and optimized, activated with a single command: CUDA, GCC, PyTorch, GROMACS, LAMMPS, Quantum ESPRESSO, WRF, QGIS…
-
Generative AI pilot
LLM models with an OpenAI-compatible API, RAG, embeddings and knowledge bases for your research projects.
How do I start?¶
- Request your account — created on CEDIA's account platform, it enables all your access.
- Learn with the quick tutorial — five steps, with copyable commands and real cluster output.
- Access from your browser at hpc.cedia.edu.ec: Jupyter, RStudio, QGIS and more, with no software to install.
- Questions? Support from the NOC answers from 07:00 to 23:00, every day.
